Kids in the Game sport and enrichment-based programs can be found in schools and communities across New York City, serving thousands of children every year. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are hiring part-time performing arts specialists with training to teach dance and creative movement classes in our after school enrichment programs. As a Dance and Creative Movement Enrichment Coach, you can expect to:
Possess a strong background in creative movement that can include but is not limited to experience in physical theater, zumba, jazz, hip-hop, modern, or contemporary.
Commit to a weekly schedule of dance and creative movement classes (2-3 hours per day) at assigned schools located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
Lead age-appropriate lessons for groups of 15-20 children in our after school programs.
Implement a curriculum of engaging performing arts activities that can be adapted to children’s various learning styles and developmental needs.
Demonstrate strong organizational and supervision skills to help children prepare for school performances during the year.
Display patience and utilize positive behavior management skills to manage children’s behaviors and respond to their needs.
Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
Collaborate with school staff and other enrichment coaches to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
Compensation: This is a part-time, hourly position. We offer competitive hourly rates in the range of $22-29 / hour for Enrichment Coaches based on prior experience as a general coach, teacher, youth development specialist, or activity specialist.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate would meet some or all of the following qualifications:
Experience teaching creative movement to groups of elementary and/or middle school children.
Possess at least two years of prior teaching experience in different creative movement and dance genres.
Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate to younger children, work with different age groups, and partner with school staff to support children’s physical and emotional needs.
Be available to work Monday – Friday during after school hours (2-6pm) to teach creative movement and dance lessons and help children prepare for ongoing performances.
Ability to reliably commute to multiple locations throughout the week to teach classes throughout NYC.
Up-to-date physical and tuberculosis test documentation will be required before starting.
You must pass Federal and NY State background checks and be willing to complete Department of Education fingerprinting before starting.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are a plus.
