Reporting to the Dean of High School Programs, this is a non-classified, full-time, and benefits eligible position. Under the direction of the Dean of High Schools Programs, the Dual Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the college’s dual enrollment programs offered to high school students, including the WIN Academy. This includes planning, developing, implementing, directing, monitoring, and reviewing K-14 pathways and assisting students as they complete their courses of study. This position is grant-funded.
Examples of Duties:
- Counsels students and their families by phone, email, text, and in person to assist them through the application process and ensure their applications are processed in a timely manner.
- Conducts regular visits to area schools, participates in special recruitment events, campus tours, and meetings with prospective students and their families.
- Meets with students to determine career pathways and develop appropriate class schedules.
- Works with the WVDE to determine and complete state high school graduation requirements, as well as course equivalency.
- Works with BVCTC to determine and complete courses of study within the institution.
- Completes necessary paperwork for all dual enrollment programs including admissions paperwork, scheduling, retention, graduation and mandatory college and state reporting.
- Maintains student databases for all aspects of the dual enrollment programs. Assists in transcribing database information into reports for stakeholders.
- Meets regularly with students to develop best practices in learning, time management, study skills, academic progress, and navigating the college landscape.
- Maintains regular contact with parents, guardians, and institutional personnel to support students.
- Connects students with available resources including tutoring, counseling, and other student support services.
- Arranges and/or teaches workshops related to student success and required state secondary programs.
- Coordinates the statewide SAT Day for the WIN Academy.
- Occasional travel for professional development and other required trainings.
- Assists with the management of any dual enrollment grants.
- A valid driver’s license is required. This assignment may include some evening and/or weekend work hours.
- Other duties directly related to the position as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in educational management, education, counseling, or related field
- OR associate degree and 5 years of experience in an educational field.
- Ability to be trained in the use of the technologies used by the college essential to the success of this position and requires the ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic culture, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees.
- Strong skills in setting priorities, organization, and time management.
- Willingness to work as a collaborative team member with academic and student affairs.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree preferably in educational management, education, counseling, or related field.
- Community college/higher education experience in student services or administration.
- Secondary or community college teaching experience.
- Direct experience in admissions.
- Experience with WVDE WVEIS system.
