Services
We serve undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni from all the schools and colleges at Syracuse University.  Our offerings are varied to the meet the needs of the populations with which we interact, as well as the various stages of career planning. 

  • Personalized Career Counseling - Meet one-on-one with a career counselor to discuss any issues relating to your career, including career exploration, job/internship search strategy, career assessments, interview preparation, and more.
  • 15 Minute Drop-Ins- “Drop in” for a quick meeting with a career counselor.  Our counselors can help with resumes, cover letters, internship/job searches, or any other quick questions or concerns during 15 Minute Drop-Ins. A hard copy of your resume is required. (check our homepage for this semester's hours).
    Internship/Job Search- Not sure what you'd like to do, or where to start looking for internships or jobs? We can help you think about possibilities and search both locally and nationally.
  • Career  Testing- We offer a wide range of career assessments to help you explore majors and career paths, and determine which career directions might prove rewarding for you as an individual.
  • Resume and Cover Letter Critiquing- Through one-on-one consultations, we can assist you in preparing documents to apply for jobs or graduate school.
  • Assistance with the credit internship process- An internship coordinator will walk you through the process of taking an internship for credit, from getting your faculty sponsor to completing all the necessary paperwork.
  • On- and off-campus interviewing with employers- Career Services works with employers in many different fields arranging on and off campus interviews for jobs and internships.
  • OrangeLink- a system which features current job and internship openings, on-campus recruiting/interviews, a calendar of events, and career and industry research materials.
  • Dedicated  Ph.D. and Grad Student Counselor
  • Print Career Resources- in Suite 235 of the Schine Student Center, we have numerous publications available  about employers, careers, job search strategies, and graduate study.
  • Credential Service – We can save faculty recommendations and transcripts for graduate school applications. 
  • Mock Interviews- Sharpen your interview skills with a practice interview with a career counselor, who will provide feedback on strengths and weaknesses.  Mock interviews can be video-taped as well.
  • Professional and graduate school advising- Work on your personal statement, narrow down your school selection, gather information, and related topics.
  • Special programs for student groups- We can customize a program for your organization based on your needs.  Click here to request a workshop or presentation for your student organization, fraternity/sorority, residence hall floor, or class.
  • 'CuseConnect- Connect with alumni mentors in the career field you've always dreamed of, in the city you want to live.  Find out first-hand how they succeeded and what advice they have to share. 
  • Career fairs and other events- Career Services hosts two career fairs each year, a local internship fair, the Diversity Business Summit, Graduate School Day, Law School Day, and Community Connections. In addition, we host several smaller, focused career fairs throughout the year.
