Michael LaMarche

Michael LaMarche

Director of Career Services, Assessment and Student Success

Michael is responsible for leading the central coordination of Career Services. He is charged with providing leadership and support in operations and technology as his team works to serve as a center of excellence for the Career Services across Syracuse University’s 11 colleges and schools. Michael comes to ESE from the Whitman School of Management’s Career Center where he led career education programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, he was responsible for career advising, corporate development, creating data analytics for placement tracking and utilizing technologies to create efficiencies within the Career Center. Prior to coming to Syracuse, Michael held positions in professional staffing and human resources where he managed branch operations, contract negotiations and served as a mentor and a coach to assist in the professional development of his employees. He has a B.A. in employment relations and an M.S. in organizational performance and technology from SUNY Potsdam. 


Andrea Acey

Andrea Acey

Assistant Director, Career Assessment and Technology

Andrea is the system administrator for OrangeLink acting as a point of contact for students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers for any OrangeLink related issues or assistance. She is also responsible for career outcome assessments for the entire University. She serves as Web Content Manager and works with our Marketing and Communications coordinator to help develop creative communications to create helpful and successful events. Andrea's tenure at SU spans over twelve years. Prior to working for Career Services, Andrea worked as an IT Support Analyst for ITS, Budget Manager and Recruiter for Public Administration and International Affairs in the Maxwell School and Associate for the Burton Blatt Institute. She is an alumna of Syracuse University. She enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking/baking and spending time with her husband, a Data Scientist in OIRA at SU and their two children.
Adam Capozzi

Adam Capozzi

Assistant Director, Alumni Career Network

Adam manages the Career Center’s alumni engagement to enhance career opportunities and services for current SU students. Through cross-campus partnerships with colleges and schools on the University campus, Adam supports various alumni events and programs designated to support mentoring and placement outcomes. Prior to joining the staff, Adam began his tenure at the University in 2014, first managing Graduate Recruitment and Student Life for the Whitman School of Management’s MBA program, followed by overseeing Corporate Development for the Whitman Career Center. Before coming to Syracuse, he served as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the Simon Business School, University of Rochester. Originally from just outside of Syracuse, Adam is a lifelong Syracuse athletics fan and supporter. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from Keuka College.


Dan McSweeney

Dan McSweeney

Assistant Director, Employer Relations

Dan is responsible for cultivating external partnerships with new and existing organizations to enhance employment and experiential opportunities for students. While collaborating with internal employer relations staff, he uses a variety of technologies to collect and track data for Syracuse University in accordance with Student Success. Prior to joining the University in April of 2018, he led similar initiatives for the Career Center at St. John Fisher College, his alma mater. Dan has been an Educator for over a decade and developed corporate relation skills as Account Manager for Aerotek. There, he specialized in recruitment strategy for Engineering and Professional Service industries. He holds a Master of Arts in Education & Professional Development from Leeds Metropolitan University in Northern England.
Jennifer Renee Pluta

Jennifer Renee Pluta

Assistant Director, Veteran Career Services

Jennifer focuses on the career development and employment needs of the veteran and military family community at Syracuse University. She is also a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve, serving as a Quality Assurance Manager for the 1st Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division, and is a veteran having served in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. She possesses a thorough understanding of the unique needs of veterans specifically in career transition, and the ability to work collaboratively across the University, as well as leverage existing services to achieve end goals. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, binge watching, fitness and new experiences.
Daniel V. Pack

Daniel V. Pack

Career Exploration Specialist

Daniel guides students with life and career counseling, advising and major exploration. He is also an English Conversation Group facilitator with the Slutzker Center and a conversation partner through the Graduate Student Organization. Daniel completed bachelor’s degrees in English and textual studies and psychology from Syracuse and is completing a master's in student affairs counseling. He is a lifelong Syracuse University sports fan and avidly follows Syracuse University football, basketball, and women’s lacrosse.
Steph Quinn

Steph Quinn

Communication & Marketing Coordinator

Steph manages the communications, marketing, and outreach efforts for Career Services events and services available to Syracuse University students and alumni. She designs digital and printed materials for the department, promoting activities through email marketing, social media and other flyers and brochures. She also helps develop creative communications with team members to create helpful and successful events. Steph is an alumna of Syracuse University and enjoys attending concerts and spending time with family.
Wes Whiteside

Wes Whiteside

Career Exploration Specialist

Wes serves as a point of contact for students with questions about life/career counseling, advising and major exploration. Prior to working at Career Services, Wes served as a counselor in the Office of Admissions at Syracuse University for five years and an academic adviser in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications for three years. Wes earned a bachelor's degree in communication arts from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. An avid sports fan, he played football for Gannon and enjoys food, music and travel.
