Michael LaMarche

Michael LaMarche

Director of Career Services, Assessment and Student Success

Michael is responsible for leading the central coordination of Career Services. He is charged with providing leadership and support in operations and technology as his team works to serve as a center of excellence for the Career Services across Syracuse University’s 11 colleges and schools. Michael comes to ESE from the Whitman School of Management’s Career Center where he led career education programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, he was responsible for career advising, corporate development, creating data analytics for placement tracking and utilizing technologies to create efficiencies within the Career Center. Prior to coming to Syracuse, Michael held positions in professional staffing and human resources where he managed branch operations, contract negotiations and served as a mentor and a coach to assist in the professional development of his employees. He has a B.A. in employment relations and an M.S. in organizational performance and technology from SUNY Potsdam. 


Andrea Acey

Assistant Director, Career Assessment and Technology

Andrea is the system administrator for OrangeLink acting as a point of contact for students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers for any OrangeLink related issues or assistance. She is also responsible for career outcome assessments for the entire University. She serves as Web Content Manager and works with our Marketing and Communications coordinator to help develop creative communications to create helpful and successful events. Andrea's tenure at SU spans over twelve years. Prior to working for Career Services, Andrea worked as an IT Support Analyst for ITS, Budget Manager and Recruiter for Public Administration and International Affairs in the Maxwell School and Associate for the Burton Blatt Institute. Sheis an alumna of Syracuse University. She enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking/baking and spending time with her husband who works as a Data Scientist in OIRA at SU and their two children.

Susan Call

Associate Director, Employer Relations

Susan manages the recruiting and employer relations operations and coordinates the connections between the external and internal constituents for Career Services.  She is eager to enhance employment and internship opportunities for all Syracuse University students and to welcome new employers and agencies to campus.  She joined Career Services in 2015 after previous experience as an Executive Recruiter and Internship Placement Coordinator, in addition to previous work in the healthcare, agriculture, and hospitality industries.  Susan has a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University and a MPS and BS in Hospitality Management from Cornell University.  In her spare time, Susan enjoys entertaining, gardening, spiritual pursuits, and traveling with her daughter.


Jenna Collins

Jenna Collins

Assistant Director, Alumni Programs

Jenna manages alumni engagement for career programs, events, and services dedicated to assisting alumni. She will also promote and market strong, collaborative, cross-campus partnerships to grow the group of alumni who serve as career resources for students, as well as expand current efforts to engage alumni through social media. Jenna earned her MA in Educational Leadership for Student Affairs and BS in Psychology both from Central Michigan University (CMU) and she is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner. She came to SU in 2015 and started working with the Veterans Career Transition Program (VCTP) though the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). Her passion for career development and networking brought her back to her roots with this role in Career Services. Jenna lives in the Syracuse area and has become a huge Orange fan! She also enjoys exploring the area, golfing, and walking Jimmy Fallon (her Boston terrier, not the human). Follow @jennaturman on Twitter. 
Carol Hornstein

Carol Hornstein

Internship Coordinator and Office Assistant

Carol serves as an Internship Coordinator and Office Assistant with oversight over front desk reception and intake. She can guide you through the internship for credit process and provide strategies for acquiring an internship. Having over 15 years of customer service experience, Carol has a passion for connecting people with ways to achieve their goals. She has a Human Resource Generalist Certificate completed through Syracuse University, obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services in 2015 and achieved a Global Career Development Certificate from the National Career Development Association in 2016. Carols moto is “More the Merrier”. She likes to gather with friends and family as well as host watercolor and acrylic painting parties.



Sam Krall

Performing & Creative Careers Advocate

Sam focuses on initiatives and advising services that support the career development of students and alumni in the performing and creative arts.  Sam previously served as Careers Coordinator and Advisor at the Eastman School of Music and is experienced counseling those pursuing their creative paths, as well as those seeking to teach or administer in their creative fields.  Sam is an advocate for entrepreneurship in the arts, and hopes to continue to guide students through their development of new ventures and new career possibilities.  Outside Career Services, Sam maintains an active performance schedule, having earned dual degrees in classical guitar and vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music.

Recruitment Coordinator, Employer Relations

Shawna coordinates the details of on-campus recruiting and job postings. She keeps track of job and internship postings on OrangeLink, ensuring everything is accurate and inputted best for both students and employers. She also handles the coordination and logistics of Career Services career fairs. Shawna enjoys thrifting and repurposing clothing, as well as spending quality time with friends and family.


Jennifer Renee Pluta

Jennifer Renee Pluta

Assistant Director, Veteran Career Services

Jennifer focuses on the career development and employment needs of the veteran and military family community at Syracuse University. She is also a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve, serving as a Quality Assurance Manager for the 1st Battalion, Army Reserve Careers Division, and is a veteran having served in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. She possesses a thorough understanding of the unique needs of veterans specifically in career transition, and the ability to work collaboratively across the University, as well as leverage existing services to achieve end goals. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, binge watching, fitness and new experiences.
Steph Quinn

Steph Quinn

Communication & Marketing Coordinator

Steph manages the communications, marketing, and outreach efforts for Career Services events and services available to Syracuse University students and alumni. She designs digital and printed materials for the department, promoting activities through email marketing, social media and other flyers and brochures. She also helps develop creative communications with team members to create helpful and successful events. Steph is an alumna of Syracuse University and enjoys attending concerts and spending time with family.
Chuck Reutlinger

Chuck Reutlinger

Associate Director

Chuck guides hundreds of students and alumni per year on issues from both initial and continuing career exploration to gaining experience and perspectives on specific careers to executing solid internship and job searches. He especially loves to help students dig up valuable information and use it profitably in networking, cover letter writing and interviewing. A former recruiter and outplacement consultant, he enjoys using coaching and role playing to improve students’ interviewing skills. He is also Career Services’ primary liaison to the community of students with disabilities. He holds the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification and has a Masters in Library Science and a BA in History. He is an avid basketball fan, golfer, and blues music lover.

Internship Coordinator

Lucy facilitates students in locating internships in their fields of interest and bridging their skill sets with local businesses. She is also responsible for updating the database of employers who offer internships to students from Syracuse University. Lucy was born in Italy, raised in Central New York and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from LeMoyne College. She has sales and business experience prior to joining the Syracuse University community.  In her free time, Lucy enjoys traveling with her family, shopping, baking, and decorating.
M'Tia Williams

M'Tia Williams

Front Desk Representative

As front desk representative, M'Tia welcomes all guests in person and on the phone; able to schedule appointments, provide information concerning Career Services and monitor the flow of client traffic and the online waiting room. An alum of Syracuse University, she graduated with a Bachelor in Science from The School of Visual and Performing Arts Communications and Rhetorical Studies program in 2016. M’Tia has also worked for Wegmans Food Market for eight years as well as Say Yes to Education and volunteers with WCNY Studios. She is originally from Syracuse and enjoys spending time with her family.
